¿Pero me estás escuchando o estás en la luna otra vez?
In class, the teacher asks you a question and you realize you've been staring out the window for five minutes.
Literally "to be on the moon."
In practice it means you're spaced out, daydreaming, or not paying attention to what's happening right now. It's common and not rude, though it can sound a bit scolding depending on tone. You'll also hear "estar en las nubes" (to be in the clouds) with the same meaning.
"Estar en la luna" does not mean to be an astronaut on the moon, to be partying all night, to be having insane ideas. It specifically means "To be daydreaming not paying attention".
